People who have the courage to say such imbecilic things in public should not be shown any respect in public discourse. He should be openly mocked and ridiculed by all reasonable people.
Organised religion is a persistent evil in our society. It's dangerous and leads to bigotry, dogmatism, indoctrination, elitism, and is solely responsible for more wars, death, suffering and hatred than any other ideology ever invented. And if all that is the work of a God, and I'm the one that is still considered immoral by him, I'm actually proud to say I'd be going to hell.
